Making a String of Solar Cells

The next step is to connect the cells into a string. This is the same process used to connect the buss wire to the front of the cell at the end of the last step (even though you actually saw the pictures for this step), where it is connected in two locations, because the back of the cell is more sensitive to heat.

The difference is that rather than soldering a bus wire to the front of a cell, you will be soldering the tail end of a previously tabbed cell to the back of the another tabbed cell.

This tutorial’s layout calls for three strings of three cells. Go ahead and make as many strings as your layout calls for. Next you will connect the strings.
