How to Test a Solar Panel
Testing a solar panel is as simple as testing any other electrical current. You will need a digital multi-meter. A cheaper one will measure Voltage, but you may need to spend a little more on one that will read Amperage.
Making sure your multimeter leads are in the proper positions and that the multimeter is set to read the proper information (either amperage or voltage in direct current mode), simply connect the positive and negative leads of the multi-meter to the positive and negative power wires from the panel, and read the reading.
