Thread your conductive wire through hole at the bottom of the junction box and solder them as shown above. Make sure to tie them together in a knot inside of the box. This keeps them from pulling at the solder when the wire is pulled.
Attach the diode to the positive lead, as shown above. It is important to make sure that the diode is connected such that the side of the diode with the bar on it is connected to the box. This dictates the direction of current flow, which means that the panel won’t accept a charge. Otherwise, if you left the panel connected to a battery at night, the panel would draw a current from the battery and cause it to lose its charge.
